☑️ Hideo Saito
(Hideo Saito) Born in Tokyo on May 23, 1902, died September 18, 1974. Conductor and cellist. After graduating from Sophia University, he studied in Leipzig and Berlin. He studied cello with Klengel and Feuermann, and later conducting with Rosenstock. From 1927 to 1941, he was the principal cellist of the New Symphony Orchestra (now the NHK Symphony Orchestra). After World War II, he became the conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. He organized the Tokyo Chamber Music Association and contributed to the establishment of "Music Classes for Children" and the Toho Gakuen Junior College and University. He established a method known as the Saito Conducting Method.
